Mr. Lee joined VaxGen in September 1998 and has played a pivotal role in the company’s financial growth and management, including its initial pubic offering in June 1999.
Prior to joining VaxGen, Mr. Lee spent his career in the professional services sector and held senior-level positions at Landor Associates and Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PricewaterhouseCoopers). In 1991, Mr. Lee helped found Diefenbach Elkins (now known as FutureBrand), an international management consulting firm specializing in strategic brand positioning, brand creation and brand management.
In 1997, Mr. Lee coordinated the sale of Diefenbach Elkins to The Interpublic Group of Companies (NYSE: IPG), one of the largest advertising and communications conglomerates in the world.
He holds a bachelor’s in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.B.A. from California State University, Hayward.
